The most preferred dishes for weddings in Dominican Republic are Fish filet ( sea bass, mahi mahi and red snapper ), Filet Mignon, Lobster tail, Shrimp, Cordon Bleu chicken, Parmesan chicken, pasta primavera and vegetables. The menu selection is endless, because it can accommodate vegetarians and other people with special preferences. The wedding planner always asks how many guests need to have specialized dishes tailored to their needs so everyone in the event gets to enjoy the food and drinks. Price will also be a factor to why people select less complicated foods, of course. Prices vary based on the number of guests, and only top restaurant chefs are selected to ensure 100% delivery of delicious and good looking food for any wedding. Caribbean Weddings top chefs specialize in local and international foods, including South American, Indian, Arab, Italian, French and Spanish.
One of the most successful hors d`oeuvres are the tapas, from our Spanish Chef. It is a very appealing and highly rich combination of Mediterranean and native ingredients. The photos above were taken at a wedding in Cabarete, by the ocean. We will soon translate the menu and post it here, since there`s a lot of Spanish terms related to the tapas gastronomy. Other more common hors d`oeuvres are also offere, the list is long and full of nice treats.

Caribbean Weddings works with the top 5 restaurants in the North Coast, based in Sosua, Cabarete and Puerto Plata. The chefs are Italian- like Paolo in the photo, Dominican and European. Dishes can have a different presentation and can be modified to fit the wedding needs.

Beach wedding decorations in the Dominican Republic can be made in many sizes, materials and colors, specially the wooden thresholds and star-lined aisles. Although more complex models can be ordered, most Caribbean weddings are decorated with natural materials such as wood, bamboo, palm and tropic trees, all lined or draped with tulle or other textiles. Here we are showing various collages depicting our favorite ones. Some of the settings here may vary to reflect each wedding`s uniqueness, either in color, thickness of material and overall arrangement. Sometimes the simpler the better, so couples should not worry about not having the most expensive ones. The island of Dominican Republic has a natural charm like few other Caribbean islands, so the scenery will help make it a very special day. If a wedding is very intimate of only 4-6 people and does not require seating arrangements, some of these aisles will do a great job to. Be sure to contact your wedding planner for more information and to explore possibilities. These decorations can be arranged for events in Sosua, Cabarete, Cabrera, Cofresi and Puerto Plata including Playa Dorada.

A perfect wedding, be it on a short or generous budget, will always require flowers for the threshold and centerpieces, if not only for the bridal bouquet. Here we show some bouquets used on several weddings, ranging from tropical to exotic, light to colorful and large to small. A nice bouquet will add a natural sense of joy that brings smiles in everyone, not to mention the great photos. A simple wedding can make the most out of the setting with a beautiful bouquet of exotic or tropical flowers, and the cost is not that high compared to other floral arrangements. Light tones are widely used, and in most cases combined to match the bridal dress. Tropical flowers in tones of yellow, red and pink can enhance the setting and create a beautiful effect if beach photos are taken at sunset.

Sosua has become a favorite place to celebrate weddings, specially in the past few years. Its local charm and natural scenery offers some of the most breath taking beaches, ocean front views and many nice restaurants and clubs where a near perfect wedding can be celebrated. Beaches like the waterfront ( Playa Alicia or calle sin salida ), hispaniola beach, and casa marina beach are good options depending on where you and the guests are staying. Among the best restaurants we propose Piergiorgio – which is also a hotel although prices are those of a boutique hotel- and it is. The place is composed of an ocean shore hotel complex with a restaurant, boutique plaza, swimming pool, and a set of terraces and gazebos built on the ocean cliff in pure Victorian style including a beautiful cupola that is undoubtedly a landmark for weddings in Sosua, and a must photograph for travelers. Though most brides dream of a beach wedding, it`s hard to pass on this magnificent Italian terrazzo. Decorative options are endless, and reflect each couple`s taste and desires. Those with small budgets can also take advantage of a more simple wedding for small groups, even just for two. More intricate wedding arrangement can increase the budget, so couples must make sure what their limits are and select a package or custom option that will make it good from start to end without breaking the bank.
More intricate wedding arrangement can increase the budget, so couples must make sure what their limits are and select a package or custom option that will make it good from start to end without breaking the bank. A Dominican Republic wedding can be the best choice for many brides and grooms seeking to tie the knot in a rather inexpensive, great looking Caribbean destination.

The cupola is the wedding chapel where most weddings take place in Sosua. Nearby hotels Sosua Bay Resort and Victorian House can handle the traveling guests, also the villas for rent in Sosua. There`s a wide range of lodging options for wedding guests, including whole beach front buildings that can be rented entirely to host a destination wedding.

The Cathedral of Puerto Plata is the topmost church for weddings in the North Coast, a towering gothic style building kept in pristine condition and fully air conditioned. Outside, the plaza visitors enjoy the hundreds of doves that flight in unison and can be also fed, great for photo opps.

Finally, the new blog for the wedding planner site is on, after so many friends and clients inquiries. Having a blog means posting all the news, event updates and pictures depicting the daily or weekly work done by the dedicated staff that works with us behind and on the scenes. Two new wedding planners joined the team last month, and the reach of our operations were extended almost nationwide, to South and Eastern cities such as Punta Cana, Bavaro, Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Romana, Juan Dolio, Boca Chica and Samana. The quality of services at those locations with match the one offered in the North coast, and a new standard will be added that will offer deluxe arrangements with a broader selection of decorative elements and styles. Fior Abreu, Judith Cuevas and Sendy Nuñez are in charge of the planning in the new locations of the Dominican Republic`s South and East coasts. Vanessa Naut is in charge of the North coast event planning spanning the coast from Cofresi to Cabrera, under the supervision of Edward Rivas. It`s important to note that wedding styles vary with location, since most weddings in beach locations require a different approach. Beach weddings tend to be more laid back and informal, while city weddings ( Santo Domingo, Santiago ) are more formal and elaborate.
